Public grand opening of the city’s new stadium with a ribbon cutting and tour opportunities. Included on the tour is the chance to walk on the field and see non-public areas such as a suite and locker room, as well as an opportunity to purchase refreshments at concession stands.
The event will begin with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on the Stadium’s northside exterior at 9 a.m. This historic occasion will be officiated by Governor Mitch Daniels, Indianapolis Mayor Greg Ballard and other dignitaries and participants involved with the project. Following the ribbon cutting, the public is invited by the ISCBA and the Capital Improvement Board (CIB, the entity that will operate the building) to take a self-guided tour of the Stadium during three sessions: at 10 a.m., 12 and 2 p.m. The event will conclude at 4 p.m.
Admission for the tours is free, but tickets are required and will be available through Ticketmaster beginning July 14th.
