Abraham Lincoln Bicentennial Celebration

As the boyhood home of Abraham Lincoln, Indiana will join the rest of the nation to honor his 200th birthday (February 12, 2009). The bicentennial celebration kicks off in February 2008 and continues through 2010. Several events have been established to commemorate Abraham Lincoln, his family, and his legacy.

Indiana Black Expo in Indianapolis – July 10 to 20, 2008

Join the many who will come to downtown Indianapolis to take part in the amazing events, exhibits, business seminars, performances, job fairs, health fairs, health screenings and children’s activities that will inform and inspire all ages. There really is something for everyone to enjoy.

Featuring the Impalas and the Indianapolis Municipal Band.

Free seating available on the Plaza steps and on the greenway across the canal. Reserved table of four available for $30 ($25 IHS Members); reserved table of eight available for $40 ($35 IHS Members).

Guests may bring their own food and non-alcoholic beverages to the concerts, but may not bring any alcoholic beverages onto the premises. Alcoholic beverages must be purchased on site. Hoaglin to Go at the Stardust Terrace will be open from 5-7:30 p.m. with cafe menu including an assortment of sandwiches, salads, hot sides and desserts. An outdoor grill will be available from 5-7:30 p.m. for purchase of hot-off-the-grill chicken breasts, hot dogs, hamburgers and chicken kabobs. Full-service cash bar will be available from 5-7 p.m., including a selection of fine wines by the bottle. Table side cocktail service will also be available. Antipasto trays are available for pre-order ($20 serves 4, $40 serves 8). They must be ordered at least one week in advance of the concert (by end of day the previous Thursday).
