Each October, the Heartland Film Festival® recognizes and honors filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life.

For the last fifteen years, Heartland has populated one week in October with all the best a film festival can offer.  Between the Crystal Heart Awards Gala, the Education Seminar and the on-going Festival screenings, one thing is certain.  Heartland means movies. 

And not just any movies.  Heartland is driven by a mission to recognize and honor filmmakers whose work explores the human journey by artistically expressing hope and respect for the positive values of life. It is this mission that allows us to bring some of the most moving films directly to Indianapolis.

The 43-foot-tall tower rises above a glass ceiling.

Hands-On Exhibit Families create their own sculptures with colorful plastic shapes or sit on a revolving platform to look up at the glass ceiling.

Children and families take a 15-minute trip through the fascinating sights and sounds of Chihuly’s glassblowing process.
